Tip #2: Adjust the Intensity
Once you’ve found and applied a preset you like… a great next step to perfect it is to play with adjusting the “intensity.”
Most presets have settings that allow you to control the strength of the effect, and you can experiment with reducing or increasing the intensity to find the perfect balance for your photo.
Here’s how:
Find the Intensity Control: Within the Presets panel, you’ll find a list of presets that have been applied to your photo. Look for a slider or control labeled “Amount,” “Intensity,” or similar that allows you to adjust the strength of the preset effect.
Reduce or Increase Intensity: Experiment with moving the intensity control slider to the left or right to decrease or increase the preset effect. Notice the changes made to your photo in real-time as you adjust the intensity.
Fine-Tune Until It’s Perfect: As you modify the intensity, pay attention to how it affects the overall look and feel of your photo. Look for a balance where the preset enhances the image to look exactly how you want… without overpowering it.
Remember, the intensity of a preset is subjective and will vary depending on the specific photo and the mood you’re looking for.
The goal is to find a level that suits your creative vision and enhances the photo in a way that feels good to you and highlights its unique qualities.
By experimenting with reducing or increasing the intensity of a preset, you have the flexibility to achieve a personalized and customized result that aligns with your creative preferences. Take your time, trust your instincts, and don’t be afraid to keep playing with the photo settings until you find the perfect balance that brings out the best in your photo.
